While I was over in Birmingham recently, one of the shops we visited on our whirlwind day was one of my faves from when I lived over there. At Home is a beautiful home décor store in the heart of Homewood, Alabama, a cute little town full of shopping and restaurants. I loved this quaint area and it was always a great place to browse and meet up with girlfriends for shopping.
The shop is chock full of beautiful home décor items including, furniture, accessories, lighting, linens, dishware, candles and more. And it’s not the run of the mill things that you see everywhere.
It’s a great shop, so if you get to Birmingham, check it out. At Home never disappoints.
Another store that I liked a lot was Harmony Landing and sadly, they were closing their doors and selling everything. I saw this Southern sign in there and loved the saying, so had to share this with y’all! Hope you enjoyed this tour of a fun shop in Birmingham, AL.

I saw this shop when I was in Homewood back in May, but it was after hours, so I only got to window shop. Thanks for sharing it so I could see it all.
Blessings,

In St. Louis, the Garden Ridge store on Rock Road has been reopened as “At Home”. It stilled looked like the former Garden Ridge when I was there last month. Sure hope they change it around to look like this store in Homewood. Beautiful store.

This shop looks amazing! It’s great to see somewhere with such a wide range of eclectic items to choose from. Any property would look fabulous with decor from this store. The paintings and textiles look beautiful.

You’re posting while running Haven; color me impressed! Now that’s dedication to your readers. I wish pinning lovely furniture would somehow make it magically appear in my living room. Saw a lot I liked in your photos.

All the Garden Ridge stores are being rebranded At Home. I’m REALLY hoping all the stores look like this one. SOOO much more attractive than Garden Ridge…

HI, Carol, oh this is nothing like Garden Ridge. This is an independent store in AL. I saw that rebranding too, but I’m afraid it is just a name change.

I’m afraid of that too! Garden Ridge used to be such a great store, but has declined so much in recent years (esp. here in Texas). Hopefully they’ll do some re-tooling over the next few years and make their stores more “shoppable” again!
Although this At Home is gorgeous, some of the prices are a LITTLE steep for this bargain shopper. Total eye candy though!

Hmmm. We have a store coming to Phoenix called At Home. There is already one on the west side of town. Was hoping it would be what you just showed us, but I doubt it.

How ironic to see this post at this particular time! My husband and I have just returned from our getaway weekend in Birmingham! Being that we are from Birmingham, and love to sneak back home every chance we get. Unfortunately (well, depending on how you look at it!), we spent the better part of 2 hours in another one of Homewood’s treasures, Homewood’s Antiques, so by the time we made it to “at Home”, they had already closed. So now it’s at the top of our list for our next visit. If you’re not familiar with Homewood Antiques, you need to see the virtual tour on their website, http://www.homewoodantiques.com. It truly is amazing as well.
I worked in Mtn Brook for over 15 years, so of course we had to stop by a few of our favorite places to say hi. When you’re in the area, make sure to stop by the Dande-Lion on Culver Road. You’ll always be able to find uniques treasures there! Make sure you stop next door, too, to check out Little Hardware! It’s the old-fashion type hardware store that’s rarely seen today. Oh I could spend days in that place! One other “must see” is Smith’s Variety, which is a few doors down from Little Hardware. We’ve been away for 20 yrs, and I was so afraid, with the economy being what it’s been, Smith’s may have become a victim of its decline. Oh no! It’s alive and thriving! This store is over the top when it comes to unique toys from the past, costumes that kids 3-12 yrs old would die for, and it’s also a collector’s dream! It’s the coolest store any kid could imagine….big kids, like me, too!!!
These are just a few of my favorites that I miss so dearly living in MS, but boy, I’m across that border every chance I get!Reply
Looks like my kind of store. So many beautiful things. You tour Southern Living headquarters and visit this store….what an awesome trip!! Kathy

How can you leave without taking 75percent of this store with you?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they had a web site so they could sell to people like me all across the country?
