National Insider Threat Awareness Month
National Insider Threat Awareness Month (NITAM) is a month-long campaign throughout September that will bring thousands of U.S. security professionals and policy makers from Government and industry together to focus on the dangerous risks of insider threat. First established in 2019, NITAM emphasizes the importance of preparing the workforce through education. New training materials are available on the NITAM website throughout the month.
2024 DCSA Conference For Insider Threat Virtual Registration Still Available
Virtual registration is still open for the DCSA Conference for Insider Threat in support of NITAM. The conference will be held on September 9-10 and the theme is “Deter, Detect, Mitigate.” Visit the REGISTRATION WEBSITE to register and to learn more about the event.
Acquisitions And Contracting Basics In The National Industrial Security Program Course
Check out CDSE’s Acquisitions and Contracting Basics in the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) eLearning course. This course provides students with a high-level overview of acquisitions and contracting basics, including the acquisition framework, security requirements and guidance, contract administration, security-related contractual documents, and the fundamental NISP roles and responsibilities. The target audience is Facility Security Officers (FSO) at cleared DOD contractor sites participating in the NISP, as well as other contractor security personnel, DCSA Industrial Security Representatives, and DOD Industrial Security Specialists.

Introduction to the Security Rating Score
Learn more about the refined security rating process with CDSE’s Introduction to the Security Rating Score webinar. In a July 2024 webinar, Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) subject matter experts discussed the refinements that will be implemented on October 1. Security Rating Criteria Requirements
Learn more about changes coming this October with CDSE’s Security Rating Criteria Requirements webinar. DCSA subject matter experts provided an overview in a July 2024 webinar about the refined security rating criteria being implemented on October 1. This refinement consolidates the two lists of criteria used under the current process into a single list known as the “Gold Standard” and creates a common understanding of definitions and requirements.
