Xiangling is a 4-star Pyro Sub-DPS/Support who specializes in Pyro attacksfrom off-field. She's a great addition to most teams and brings ahigh damage Pyro attack that stays on the field despite Xiangling being swappedout. She's a great F2P choice for any new players starting the game, and canbe easily built into an endgame character with some investment.

DPS Xiangling Build
Xiangling is usually played as an off-field Sub DPS whose Pyro applicationcan consistently produce Elemental Reactions for so many different teams. Mostof her equipment choices are easy to farm, offering some great opportunity forF2P players. Overall, she scales well into the endgame after a decent amountof investment and can be a great asset for teams facing higher end content.

Xiangling's best in slot weapon choice is "The Catch". It is a4-star farmable weapon that can be easily refined to Rank 5 from fishingactivities. It boost some fantastic stats for Xiangling's play style to takeadvantage of with it's Energy Recharge stat and weapon skill that boostsElemental Burst abilities. While there are other 5-star weapons, as shown above, that do offer some strong augments to Xiangling's damage output, getting themto their max potential is quite costly. As for other 4-star options, Deathmatch is a good choice but will require refinements to competewith "The Catch". Overall, Xiangling can use any of these weapons andexcel.
Xiangling's Artifacts should focus on her Energy Recharge requirements.Depending on her team composition, she can require massive amounts of EnergyRecharge to ensure proper rotations. By building her this waythe rest of the team can help support her Pyronado's hefty 80 energy requirement.Xiangling functions best at over 200% Energy Recharge, which should be enoughfor most standard teams. While this can eat into some of her damage potential,we focus on building her as an off-field Pyro DPS. In the end, Xiangling is afantastic F2P option that can be built into something truly special.

Combos and How to Play Xiangling
Xiangling's abilities can be quite powerful on the battlefield with herElemental Burst, Pyronado, triggering some devastatingElemental Reactions. She can also help while off-field with her ElementalSkill Guoba Attack as a good source of Pyroapplication. Both of Xiangling's skills snapshot, so she can play well into situationswhere she can take advantage of any damage buffs. Overall, Xiangling's gameplayloop is all about timing and adding her Pyro DMG to your teammates elementalabilities. Let's take a look at some of the teams that will utilize her skillsthe best.
4.
Xiangling's Best Team Comps
As we have previously mentioned, Xiangling will be an off-field Sub DPS forteam compositions, built to take advantage of her Pyro reactions.
4.1.
Rational Team
Sub DPS | Main DPS | Support | Buffer |
---|---|---|---|
Xiangling | Raiden Shogun | Xingqiu | Bennett |
This build has been a top meta build ever since Raiden Shogunbecame available to players. This build uses Raiden’s DPS capabilities andamplifies them by stacking your team’s Elemental Bursts all together for herto take advantage of. Xiangling is primarily used for the powerof her Pyronado, Bennett for their ATKboosts and Xingqiu for their Hydro application. When all three Elemental Bursts have been activated, you willthen swap back to Raiden to activate her Elemental Burst, Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu, as the final piece tomake this build skyrocket with damage.
4.2.
Childe National Team
Sub DPS | Main DPS | Support | Buffer |
---|---|---|---|
Xiangling | Tartaglia |
| Bennett |
This powerful team uses the combination of Xiangling andBennett's Elemental Bursts to produce a powerfulVaporize reaction when we add Tartagliainto the combination. Sucrose or Kaedehara Kazuha areadded to help provide Elemental RES Shred as well asSwirl reactions. Kazuha canalso add his buffing capabilities to increase the team's overall damage. WhileSucrose’s ability to group up enemies is not nearly as strong as Kazuha, she isstill a solid flex choice for this team.
4.3.
4-star National Team
Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Support | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Xiangling | Xingqiu | Sucrose | Bennett |
This build focuses on 4-star characters only as an additional National variantand has a lot of Elemental Reactions that offer up solid damageagainst almost any type of enemy. Xingqiu is ourHydro applicator, who is assisted by Sucroseto help apply the Hydro effect to every enemy on the field. She will also buffour Elemental Mastery and apply Swirl plus RES Shredif she is using the Viridescent Venerer set. When we add ourPyro components to the battlefield using bothBennett's elemental abilities to buff the team orXiangling's bear companion: Gouba. We will begin to triggerElemental Reactions. Xiangling brings the largest component of damage with her Pyronado when combined with Bennett's Elemental Burst, creating a surge of Pyro damage for even more reactions. This build is a constantcharacter swap, ensuring your elemental skills are active as much as possible.
4.4.
Xiangling Melt Team
Sub DPS | Main DPS | Buffer | Shielder |
---|---|---|---|
Xiangling | Ganyu | Bennett | Zhongli |
To start this Melt team is very Energy hungry, willwant to stack Energy Recharge on Xiangling so that she is wellover 200%, closer to 250%. Everyone's Elemental Burst abilities can stacktogether, so you want to be able to recharge those abilities back up quickly tokeep your rotations from taking too long. Zhongli provides hisshields to the team as well as universal RES Shred, allowing us to adopt anaggressive playstyle. We will apply Pyro andCryo elements over and over on top of one another with thisbuild, all the while being under Bennett's buff from hisElemental Burst. Ganyu's Celestial Shower isour main Cryo ability, pairing with her Charged Attack's forour secondary AoE application of Cryo. Xiangling's Pyro abilities, Guoba Attack and Pyronado, will beused in between Ganyu's Cryo applications to trigger Meltreactions. By alternating back and forth, we can trigger a ton ofelemental reactions with this build.
4.5.
Xiangling Turret Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS - Electro | Sub DPS - Electro | Sub DPS - Pyro |
---|---|---|---|
Ningguang | Yae Miko | Fischl | Xiangling |
This team is a single target monster, and is so much fun to play! While itdoes not have many AoE abilities, outside of Xiangling's Pyronado, it absolutely shreds groups. This build takesadvantage of two 'turret' style skills: Fischl's Nightrider and Yae Miko's Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura. These are easy to maintain andoffer a constant source of Electro application and damage. Addinto the mix Xiangling's Pyro abilities: Guoba Attack and Pyronado, and withthe right positioning we can trigger some great elemental reactions.Ningguang will provide a good chunk of DPS with herGeo abilities and charged attacks while your team's abilitiesrefresh. This build is quite safe as you can remain ranged the majority of thetime.
